- Gas business
- The most remarkable feature of the gas business of our corporate group is the in-house operation of all processes from the upstream section, including the development and production of natural gas, to the downstream section, including the sale of city gas and LP gas to customers, such as general households. The importance of natural gas is increasing as environmentally-friendly clean energy compared with other fossil fuels. We have developed a system for supplying it stably for a long period of time while diversifying gas sources, mainly the natural gas in Chiba Prefecture, where there are plentiful natural gas reserves, without being affected by international situations, exchange rates, etc.

- Iodine business
- Another pillar of the K&O Energy Group business is the production and sale of iodine. Japan (mostly Chiba Prefecture) produces the second largest volume of iodine in the world, following Chile in South America. Japan, which is said to have few natural resources, accounts for over 30% of the global production volume of iodine, and about 80% is produced in Chiba Prefecture. Iodine is an essential element for growing the human body, and valuable from a global perspective because it is used for various purposes, including medical and industrial ones, and promising as it is expected to be used for more purposes.
- Other businesses
- While selling city gas, LP gas, and electricity as a general energy company, we conduct civil engineering works, piping for selling gas, sale of gas equipment, digging of geothermal wells, assessment of geological conditions and water quality, development of oil and gas in the U.S., etc.
